Season 3 of Hallmark Channel’s “Chesapeake Shores” continues with episode 2 airing on Sunday night. Trace (Jesse Metcalfe) returned to town in last week’s Season 3 premiere, but that doesn’t mean his relationship with Abby (Meghan Ory) will be smooth sailing from here on out.

In Sunday’s episode, titled “The Way We Were,” a country legend offers Trace a huge music gig that could completely jumpstart his career. He’ll have to decide whether or not it’s worth doing though because it’d cause him to be away from Abby and her daughters again. Abby has her own decision to make when she finds “a letter that she wrote Trace years ago – still unopened – and questions what to do with it,” the episode synopsis reveals. From the “Chesapeake Shores” promo video, it seems like she decides to be honest with Trace about it.

“When we were going through your boxes from the attic, I found this,” Abby says in the Season 3, episode 2 promo while showing Trace the unopened letter.

“It’s time for us to let go of the past,” he says to her.

Meanwhile, Mick (Treat Williams) and Megan (Barbara Niven) must take a look at their own relationship when they meet up with Thomas (Gregory Harrison), who recently rekindled his marriage with his once-estranged wife.

As for Bree (Emilie Ullerup), she gets quite the surprise when Simon (Oliver Rice) reappears in her life.

“What are you doing here,” Bree asks Simon in the episode trailer.

“Bree,” he simply responds.

All Bree wants to do is talk to Jess (Laci Mailey) about the situation and get her thoughts on it, but she’s still mad about her sister using her life in her manuscript. As for Kevin (Brendan Penny), he’s “concerned when he sees Connor’s (Andrew Francis) girlfriend out with another man,” according to the synopsis. “Meanwhile, Nell (Diane Ladd) continues her fight to preserve the town’s wishing fountain.”
