Who knew the Cubs could bring in so much cash!

During the World Series games last weekend, Chicago Airbnb hosts earned a whopping $2.6 million in supplemental income as the Cubs welcomed the Cleveland Indians for games 3-5. More than 9,000 people visited the Windy City via the home sharing platform with 46 percent of the weekend visitors stayed in neighborhoods outside of the North Side, Near North Side and Loop areas in closest proximity to Wrigley Field.

It's shaping up to be a big month for Airbnb. On Nov. 19, Airbnb users including Kendall Jenner, Britney Spars and Steven Tyler, have the chance to be submerged into the world of the peer-to-peer online marketplace at the Airbnb’s Open Spotlight.

The cultural celebration will come on the heels of the Belo Awards hosted by funnyman, James Cordon, as well as the weekend’s speakers and presenters including Ashton Kutcher, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brian Grazer and other billionaire CEOs. The festival will also have a sneak-peek screening of "La La Land," starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, which hits theaters in December, and a Maroon 5 concert for a select group of celebrities, billionaires and VIPs.
