Morgan Foods has recalled its Skyline chili over an allergy risk because the cans may actually contain cream of chicken soup.

The recall was issued because the chili was misbranded and had undeclared allergens, which included milk, wheat, and soy that were not listed on the product label.

The cans, which were labeled as Skyline chili and may contain cream of chicken soup, were produced on Dec. 21 and shipped to retail locations nationwide.

They can be identified as 10.5-ounce cans that are labeled as Skyline Chili Original Chili with a lot code of L2121. They have a product code of CHC8T UPY on the bottom of the can. The best buy date is Dec. 21, 2023.

The recalled chili also has an establishment number of EST 6806 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Consumers are urged to check their pantries for the recalled cans. They should not be consumed. They should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Questions about the recall can be directed to Bridget Castellino at Wordsmith Communications at 513-515-9673 or bcastellini@wordsworthweb.com.

Morgan Foods discovered the issue when consumers reported that the cans labeled as chili contained cream of chicken soup.

The company said it has not received any reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of the recalled products.

Anyone that is concerned about injury or illness from the recall should contact their healthcare provider, Morgan Foods said.
