Chris Daughtry is "absolutely devastated and heartbroken" over the death of his stepdaughter, Hannah.

On Saturday, Daughtry, 41, took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news and post a photo of his 25-year-old stepdaughter, who was found dead in her Fentress County, Tennessee, home Friday by local police.

"I am still processing the last 24 hours. I am absolutely devastated and heartbroken," he wrote. "I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family."

The singer thanked those who showed them kindness and offered their condolences. "I am now taking time be present with my family as we attempt to heal from this devastating loss," he added. "Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply."

Detectives told the Daughtry family that Hannah's death was a homicide, TMZ reported, citing unnamed sources "directly connected" to the family. Hannah’s boyfriend, Bobby Jolly, was arrested Friday and booked into Fentress County Jail, but it wasn't immediately clear if his bust was related to the purported homicide.

The investigation into Hannah's death is still ongoing.

Hannah and her brother Griffin, 23, are the children of Daughtry's wife Deanna from a previous relationship. Daughtry and Deanna, who wed in 2000, also share twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James, 10.

The "American Idol" alum postponed his Friday show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and flew home to Nashville after learning of Hannah's death, People reported.

Daughtry's band also announced on Twitter that "all currently scheduled shows this weekend for Daughtry have been postponed."

"The Daughtry family thanks you for your understanding and respectfully asks for privacy during this difficult time," they continued, adding that further details will be revealed at a later date.

Hannah's mother and Daughtry's wife Deanna opened up about the heartbreaking loss of her "firstborn" Hannah, whom she loved "endlessly," on Instagram Saturday.

"Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah," she wrote alongside a series of photos of her daughter. "We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken."
