  • Markle shared that she lost her unborn second child in July

Chrissy Teigen is on Meghan Markle’s side after the Duchess of Sussex received criticism for opening up about her miscarriage.

Markle talked about her pregnancy loss in an essay for The New York Times, but while some people lauded her bravery for opening up about such a painful moment in her life, others slammed her and questioned why she had to share her story. Teigen, who also recently suffered a miscarriage, was not having any of it, and rushed to defend the former “Suits” star.

“Is anyone really questioning the pain and sheer awfulness of suffering a miscarriage, or are they perhaps criticising Meghan's decision to write a 1,000 word op-Ed about herself? What does it add to the resources already available for those who go through a tragedy like this?" one social media user reacted about Markle’s eye-opening essay.

"Award for today's absolute piece of s--t goes to Marco Giannangeli. Congratulations, piece of s—t," Teigen wrote when she retweeted the person’s statement, although she later deleted the tweet, explaining that “Sorry forgot I'm trying to be nicer lol," E! News reported.

Teigen recently addressed losing her son when she appeared with her husband, John Legend, on “Good Morning America.” She said she allowed herself “to have complete and utter grief.”

In an emotional Instagram post, the model shared the moment they were at the hospital and learned that they lost the baby, who they named Jack.

“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough," Teigen wrote.

In her essay, Markle also detailed the miscarriage she suffered in July. She explained that it was an ordinary day when she suddenly “felt a sharp cramp” that made her fall to the floor with baby Archie in her hands.

“I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second, ” the Duchess of Sussex revealed.
