  • The details of the deal are still under wraps
  • The film is scheduled for release on Nov. 5, 2021

After being part of the DC Universe for almost 7 years, Christian Bale might be making a comeback to the superhero movies through Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Love And Thunder.”

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old actor is in talks to be part of Taika Waititi’s upcoming directorial venture “Thor: Love And Thunder.” The details about the deal and character are still under wraps, so no one knows which character he could be portraying in the movie.

If the deal works out well, this would be Bale’s first movie in the superhero universe after 2012’s “The Dark Knight Rises.”

All the original stars are returning for the fourth movie in the “Thor” franchise. Chris Hemsworth is all set to reprise the role of the god of thunder in the movie while Natalie Portman will return as Jane Foster, who will eventually take on the mantle as Female Thor.

Another character who is expected to be a part of the movie is Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.

Bale is obviously not new to the superhero world. The Academy Award-winning star donned Batman’s cape in three movies directed by Christopher Nolan. He started his journey in 2005’s “Batman Begins” and immediately became everyone’s favorite Batman. In 2008, he came back for “The Dark Knight.” Although, this time all eyes were on Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the diabolical clown Joker.

Meanwhile, in 2012, the third movie in the “Dark Knight” trilogy, “The Dark Knight Rises,” saw Bale wearing the Batsuit for the last time.

All the movies were received well by the critics as well as the audiences and turned out to be a massive success for Bale and Nolan. The films accumulated a total of $2.4 billion at the global box office. The movie series is also considered to be one of the best trilogies of all time.

The Dark Knight” is still the highest-rated superhero movie of all time with a score of 9 out of 10 on IMDb.

The “Fighter” star is currently riding high on the success of his latest movie “Ford v Ferrari.” The actor was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Actor (Drama) category but lost out to Joaquin Phoenix, who starred in “Joker.” Bale was not present at the event after various reports surfaced online that he was really sick and did not want to compromise his health.

Marvel’s “Thor: Love And Thunder” is scheduled to hit theaters on Nov. 5, 2021.
