Christian Bale is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors of this generation and the way he transforms himself to get into the skin of the character is really commendable. The actor is known for shedding a lot of weight to make his characters look more authentic. But now, it seems Bale has had enough of it.

In an interview with CBS, the 45-year-old actor shared that he is done with such constant fluctuations and will no longer be making these drastic changes in his upcoming movies. The Academy Award-winning actor lost over 70 pounds to play a race car driver Ken Miles in the movie “Ford v Ferrari.”

“I keep saying I am done with it. I really think I am done with it, yeah,” Bale said.

His transformation started in the year 1997 with “Velvetine Goldmine,” and continued the trend with “American Psycho.” But the “Batman Begins” star did the unthinkable in 2004’s “The Machinist” where he lost almost 120 pounds for the role of Trevor Reznik.

Even though Bale seems to be over with the fluctuation of weight, his co-star and actor Matt Damon was really impressed with Bale’s dedication to lose his weight for the movie. Damon, who plays the role of Carroll Shelby in “Ford vs Ferrari,” admitted that he had a great time watching the process of how he changes himself from Dick Cheney to this guy.

The “Downsizing” star also shared that when he asked Bale how did he manage to lose 70 pounds for the movie, Bale jokingly said by “not eating.”

“I would just get these periodic updates. But he did it. When I saw him on set, I said, ‘How did you lose 70 pounds?’ And he just said, ‘Didn’t eat,’” Damon explained.

“Ford v Ferrari” chronicles the journey of American car designer Carroll Shellby (Damon) and driver Ken Miles (Bale) who were brought together by Ford Motors to challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

The movie received rave reviews from critics around the world on the day of its premiere. The movie currently has a 92 percent score on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

The cast of “Ford v Ferrari” includes Bale and Damon in lead roles, along with Caitriona Balfe, Jon Bernthal, Noah Jupe, Josh Lucas and Tracy Letts in supporting roles.

The film is set to open in theaters on Nov. 15, 2019.
