Fans will meet more of Riva’s family in the upcoming Season 2 of TNT’s “Claws.”

According to TVLine, the Niecy Nash-led series is casting the roles of Olga and Zlata. Described as a “slightly overweight” and “barely reformed party girl,” Olga is Riva’s (Andrea Sooch) niece who has an awkward reconciliation with her absentee mom Zlata and takes full advantage of her mom’s maternal guilt.

Olga’s name was first mentioned in the Season 1 finale during a phone call between Riva and Uncle Daddy (Dean Norris). When Uncle Daddy asked Riva why she wanted Roller (Jack Kesy) dead, the Russian mob boss told Uncle Daddy to ask Roller about Olga. Roller then revealed to Uncle Daddy that Olga was a “dirty little Russian” he previously hooked up with. “[I] met her at their club. They told me she was 25, [but] she was 17,” Roller said, before revealing that he and Olga had a baby.

While plot details about Season 2 are being kept under wraps, “Claws” stars Karrueche Tran and Carrie Preston both said that they would like to know more about the girls’ individual backstory in the show’s sophomore run.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last August, Tran said that she’s hoping that viewers will learn more about her character’s past so they will understand her better.

“I just love the concept of opening up [my character] Virginia more and just revealing more about her and her life,” Tran told the news outlet when asked if there’s any particular thing the actress would like to do next season. “I think maybe more about her backstory would explain a lot about who she is and why she is the way she is. Maybe just more on that.”

Preston, who plays Polly on the show, shared similar wishes during her interview with TV Guide in the same month. “I would love to see even more backstories [for] all of us women in the crew [in Season 2] because we’ve only just scratched the surface there,” Preston said.

TNT has yet to set a premiere date for Season 2 but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the new season will debut sometime next year.
