Music fans are ready to rock for the next two weekends as Coachella 2012 returns to California's Mojave Desert on Friday. With a stacked lineup of 143 bands and tens of thousands of attendees expected, Coachella will be music's biggest event of the year.

Coachella has pushed boundaries in the past. It has redefined what festivals are about, and has a different character to other festivals around the world, Tye Comer, editor of Billboard.com, told Reuters.

The 2012 music festival marks the first year organizers have scheduled the three-day festival for two consecutive weekends.

Coachella is a concert that warrants such expansion.

It's what makes Coachella so unique because you won't see Dr. Dre and Snoop performing at Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo. Coachella's really good at going back 20 or 30 years, finding artists and pulling them back onto the main stage, Comer told Reuters.

The set times for the 2012 Coachella lineup have been released for both weekends.

For those not lucky enough to be holding tickets to the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, the music festival will be live-streamed online on Coachella's official YouTube channel. The channel offers a full schedule of the lineup plus the times each live stream is available and on the various channels.
