Meghan Markle has not been on the best of terms with her father Thomas Markle. The Duchess of Sussex hasn’t even seen her dad since before her May wedding to Prince Harry, but Thomas hopes that they’ll be able to patch things up by the holidays.

“Thomas is praying Meghan will give him one last chance this holiday season,” an insider recently told Milan’s Grazia magazine (via Radar Online). “He’s clinging to the fact that Christmas was such a special time for them growing up, and hoping against hope that her heart will soften and she’ll at least pick up the phone and patch things up.”

The 74-year-old has alienated his daughter by taking numerous paid interviews and sometimes being rather critical of her in those chats. He ultimately did not attend her wedding, saying he had a heart attack days before the nuptials. The Duchess of Sussex reportedly had no comment when royal biographer Robert Johnson asked if she and Prince Harry had told Thomas about her pregnancy.

Thomas probably won’t be spending Christmas with the Duchess of Sussex, but her mother, on the other hand, supposedly scored an invite to celebrate with Queen Elizabeth II. Doria Ragland is expected to attend the festivities at Sandringham alongside Meghan and Harry, Express reports.
