Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have both seen their fair share of rumors since they started dating, but 2020 was filled with even more for the couple.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were in the spotlight shortly after the new year after announcing their departure from the British royal family and their senior duties in January. It seems like they’ve been a topic of discussion ever since, whether the things people were saying were true or false.

Here are five of the craziest rumors there have been about Prince Harry and Meghan in 2020:

Competing With The Queen

The latest rumor circling the Duke and Duchess of Sussex came to the surface in early December ahead of the launch of their non-profit organization, Archewell, named after their 1-year-old son Archie.

British tabloids stated that the couple was planning to host an awards ceremony for their non-profit, just like Queen Elizabeth II does, which could cause a rivalry, according to Cosmopolitan. That rumor got shot down by an Archewell press secretary.

Many Divorces

Divorce rumors aren’t new for Harry and Meghan. The latest one came at the end of November when In Touch Weekly reported that there was trouble in paradise after Harry allegedly shared phone calls with his father, Prince Charles, about Meghan wanting fame over her family.

Many fans of the royal family came out in droves online to debunk this claim, and the couple appears to still be happily married.

A Reality Show

After announcing in September a deal with Netflix to produce various docuseries, scripted series, and more for the streaming app, The Sun (via E! News) reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would be starring in their own reality show.

Netflix, as well as a spokesperson for the couple, declined this rumor.

Meghan's Diary Entries

It is said that Meghan kept a diary during her time in the royal family. The Daily Mail columnist Sebastian Shakespeare suggested in September that she might release those pages in a book for the world to see.

In response to the rumor, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan told the publication that the couple would not be commenting on the speculation.

Kate Middleton Jealousy

In January, it was rumored that Kate Middleton, Prince Harry's sister-in-law, was pregnant with twins and an unclaimed source told Radar Online that Meghan and Harry were very jealous of this news. The twin rumor also came about when Kate was pregnant with her and Prince William's third child, Prince Louis, via Life and Style. These claims were both false.
