Emma Corrin, who will be playing Princess Diana in Season 4 of the Netflix series “The Crown,” has revealed that she was under “a lot of pressure” while portraying the beloved British royal.

In an interview with the U.K.'s The Sunday Times, the 24-year-old actress opened up about her role in the series and how she overcame the pressure of playing Princess Diana, who died in a car crash in 1997. Corrin explained that fans have a really strong connection with Princes William and Harry's late mother and “everybody has this ownership.”

Corrin also said that she wants to make Princess Diana proud with her portrayal and feels that she “knows” the late royal after learning a lot about her during filming.

“I know that's strange and cheesy, but I feel like I know her,” Corrin said during the interview.

The makers of “The Crown” recently revealed the first photo of Corrin in Princess Diana’s wedding dress. The gown is almost a replica of the iconic wedding dress Princess Diana wore when she tied the knot with Prince Charles on July 29, 1981.

Corrin's dress was designed by costume designer Amy Roberts, who wanted to capture the same spirit and style of David & Elizabeth Emanuel’s original design, without creating a replica.

Corrin also opened up about filming in the wedding dress to British Vogue and revealed that it took 10 people to hold the dress while shooting scenes for “The Crown.”

“The Emanuels, who designed the original, gave us the patterns, and then it was made for me. We were filming the scene when you first see her in the wedding dress – I think it was Lancaster House in London – and I had a team of about 10 people helping me put it on because it’s massive,” Corrin told British Vogue.

The “Pennyworth” star will be playing Diana in Season 4, while Elizabeth Debicki will star as the mother of Prince William and Harry in the final two seasons of the highly successful series.

“The Crown” creators confirmed the news on the show’s official Twitter account and shared a statement from the actress.

“Princess Diana's spirit, her words, and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honor to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one,” Debicki said in a statement.

“The Crown” Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on Nov. 15.
