‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Derek Hough Reacts To Sasha Farber, Emma Slater’s Engagement In Instagram Video

“Dancing With the Stars” Season 23 pro Derek Hough recently expressed his happiness over his fellow dancers Emma Slater and Sasha Farber’s engagement.

Hough, 31, congratulated the couple on their engagement on his Instagram account on Wednesday, Oct. 5. He posted a sweet clip of himself fist-pumping with joy, along with the caption: “SHE SAID YES!!!! Sooooo freaking happy for @emmaslaterdanceand @sashafarber1. Love you two so much. My only regret is wearing this ridiculous costume for your moment #fistpump #engagement #joy #love.” Check out Hough’s adorable post below!

Meanwhile, the newly engaged couple recently opened up about the special moment, which happened live on Monday’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 23. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight after the live show, Farber revealed that he was so nervous about proposing to Slater that he was “sweating” profusely before he popped the big question.

“I was dying, I'm not gonna lie. Usually I'm like, running around and having fun backstage but I was just in the corner [before proposing],” the pro confessed.

Farber added that he was even more anxious since he had to perform before his big proposal, and he was worried about dropping the ring on the stage. “I touched my hands and they were sweating, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I've still got to do this dance. And then I've got this in my pocket, what if it falls out?’ I didn't know what to expect,” he explained.

Of course, Slater couldn’t help but notice how “strange” he had been acting during the show. However, she didn’t suspect anything until Farber finally gave her the ring.

“As soon as [our dance] was over, I felt his energy get even worse, like even more nervous than when we danced, and I thought that was really strange,” the 27-year-old dancer recalled. “I turned to Sasha and he turned to me, and I was like, ‘Ahh!’ He didn't even say one word and I think I started to hyperventilate and do all that really like, ugly crying stuff, which I'm sure I'm going to regret, but it was the best day of my life!”

“Dancing With the Stars” Season 23 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
