David Beckham stars in new campaign for H&M H&M

David Beckham is set to star in a new campaign for H&M's collection of David Beckham Bodywear, which will debut during Super Bowl 2014.

In a teaser video, the British footballer strips to his boxers, and the Swedish apparel retailer tweeted: “Action! Check out David Beckham performing his stunts on set of the upcoming #BeckhamForHM campaign film!”

For the campaign, Beckham has filmed two alternative versions, “#covered” and “#uncovered,” which will be put to vote on H&M's website for people to choose their favorite. The result of this online poll will determine which version makes it to the Super Bowl. The voting will start Jan. 27.

According to a press release issued by H&M on Thursday, the plot of the commercial will begin with Beckham “locked out of a photo shoot on a rooftop in just his underwear, with no way down. He has to go to any length to get to safety, performing all his own stunts in the process.”

The 38-year-old footballer said, in the statement: “It was so exciting to work with one of my favorite directors, Nicolas Winding Refn, on my new campaign for H&M. Nicholas pushed me hard to create an action-packed film, which shows off this season’s new heritage-inspired bodywear at its best.”

Refn, the director of the commercial campaign, said: “I loved working with David for his new campaign. He is a natural in front of the camera, and was fearless when performing his own stunts. The campaign is funny, smart and spectacular, and shows the many different sides of David’s personality.”
