She was trying to do everything she could to prove Ben’s innocence when it came to Jordan’s murder before it was too late, but now that his final appeal has gone before a judge, Ciara may have to tell the man she loves that their quest for the truth hasn’t turned out the way they hoped on the Friday, Jan. 10 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) were both desperate to prove he didn’t kill Jordan (Chrishell Stause) and time was running out for them to do so since his final appeal would determine whether or not he gets the death penalty on the NBC soap. They have been convinced that Victor (John Aniston) ordered the hit and that Xander (Paul Telfer) carried it out, but couldn’t get proof. To make things worse, as Ben prepared fr his appeal, Victor and Xander learned about the plot to expose their potential crime, and when Ciara went to have it out with her grandfather, he had a stroke.

Now, with Victor on the mend after surgery, Ciara has learned what the appeals board decided about Ben, and unfortunately, it doesn’t appear to be good news.

“Ciara delivers bad news to Ben,” spoilers reveal.

If the news came back that the board decided he was guilty of the murder, therefore sentencing him to death row, then the couple will realize they may have no time left together, and they will have to accept their fate. Time to prove his innocence is even more limited, and they will need all the help in the world.

They do still have Justin (Wally Kurth) on their side, however, and while serving as Ben’s lawyer for this appeal didn’t seem to help, he will try to appeal to Victor to do the right thing for his granddaughter.

“Justin urges Victor to do the right thing regarding Ben,” spoilers state.

However, even if Victor is persuaded to do the right thing if Ciara and Ben were wrong and he wasn’t the one who set Ben up, they could truly be losing their last shot at saving his life.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
