They finally started getting their lives back after Jennifer woke up from her yearlong coma and JJ finally kicked his resumed drug habit again. However, the Horton and Devereaux family could face perhaps one of their biggest tests yet following news that someone they all love has died on the Tuesday, Feb. 18 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Now that things have seemingly settled for Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), Jack (Matthew Ashford), JJ (Casey Moss) and Abigail (Kate Mansi) on the NBC soap, they may think their lives can start going back to something closer to what they were like prior to all of the drama that unfolded after Jennifer and Jack finally remarried. However, things will quickly throw them all off track once again, as devastating news about Jennifer’s father, Bill, is revealed.

“Jennifer receives sad news about a loved one—the death of Bill Horton,” spoilers reveal.

Her father’s death will be a huge blow not only to Jennifer but to her kids as well, as they mourn their grandfather. According to a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above), this could be something that throws a major wrench in everything Abigail and Chad (Billy Flynn) have planned for their lives together, as she tells her husband she doesn’t want him to go with her for a trip.

Meanwhile, JJ will also possibly take the news hard since he still struggles with Haley’s (Thia Megia) death on the night he was going to propose, and too much death could be something that he can no longer accept—which may lead to his decision to leave Salem behind completely.

Unfortunately, this won’t be the only drama that affects the family, as the news will hit shortly after Abigail, Chad and JJ all attended Eli (Lamon Archey) and Gabi’s (Camilla Banus) now aborted wedding—where the truth about Gabi’s app to control Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) pacemaker was finally outed. While they may all escape from that situation unscathed, knowing that Julie’s life was in Gabi’s hands for so long could keep the family shaken as well.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
