She has been unaware of why the man she loved wanted to divorce her and then came back to Salem and treated her the way he did. Now, as she continues helping treat him from a gunshot wound and keeping him hidden, Kayla will learn the real reasons for Steve’s strange behaviors on the Wednesday, Feb. 19 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

Following his struggle with Chad (Billy Flynn) that left him with a gunshot wound, “Steve” (Stephen Nicholls) sought out Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) for treatment and convinced her to help him and keep everything a secret on the NBC soap. However, the reason he has been able to convince her to help him has been because she believes he is the man she was once married to and he is trying to keep himself safe from Stefano. What she doesn’t know is that the man she is treating is really Stefano—who has been masquerading as her former husband so he can remain mostly undetected until he gets what he wants.

However, now, as she potentially continues seeking answers about the changes in his behavior and his feelings for her, she will finally learn the truth—as he reveals the truth about his identity.

“Kayla is shocked by ‘Steve’s’ revelation,” spoilers reveal.

Learning that the man in front of her isn’t really her former husband at all could also put Kayla in danger since Stefano won’t want anyone getting in his way when it comes to the plans he has. He wants to get Marlena (Deidre Hall), which he previously failed to do, and he now has to work alone since his prior partner, Princess Gina (Kristian Alfonso) has been arrested. If Kayla is in his way, or worse, trying to find a way to get to Steve again, it will cause a problem.

Sure enough, as it becomes clear Kayla may be missing or involved in something unexpected, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Justin (Wally Kurth) will be on the hunt to see if they can find her, especially if it becomes clear who “Steve” really is.

“Rafe and Justin try to track down Kayla,” spoilers state.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
