The early part of "Demon Slayer" Season 2 Episode 8 finally ended the Mugen Train arc and showed Tanjiro beating himself up by training extensively, despite his injury, to be able to take on threats from more terrifying and powerful demons in the future. Tanjiro paid a visit to Renguko Kyojuro's house to deliver the Flame Hashira's final message to his family.

Kyojuro's father, Shinjuro, a former Flame Hashira himself, accosted Tanjiro and assumed that he is the wielder of the Sun Breathing technique. The head of the Renguko household based his assumption on the earrings Tanjiro was wearing at the time.

He had seen the demon slayer's earrings from the book of the Flame Hashira's records. Shinjuro also said the legendary and long-forgotten Sun Breathing technique is the most powerful breathing style ever created.

Hinokami Kagura, the Dance of the Fire God, also known as the Sun Breathing technique, consists of 12 segments repeated all through the night until dawn. Fans saw this in the anime's first season when Tanjiro remembered his father dancing the ritual when he was still alive.

It turned out that the Hinokami Kagura is passed on from father to son in every generation, along with the Hafuda earrings, and the Kamado family performs this ritual every new year. In the anime's first season, Muzan Kibutsuji ordered demons to kill the demon slayer wearing Hanafuda earrings because he is well aware that only a wielder of the Sun Breathing technique is powerful enough to obliterate him.

For those wondering if Tanjiro will master the Sun Breathing technique, "Demon Slayer" Season 2 Episode 8 revealed the series' protagonist admitting he knew how to perform Hinokami Kagura. Unfortunately, he is still far from mastering the legendary technique in the TV anime adaptation.

At the moment, Tanjiro is unaware of his family's secret since as far as he knows, he came from a long line of coal makers. With the Sun Breathing technique's details destroyed by Shinjuro, the young demon slayer will have to find ways to learn about this legendary technique and along the way, discover effective ways to awaken his latent power.
