Aniplex, the Japanese anime and music production company behind the hit franchise "Kimetsu no Yaiba," has released a new trailer for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of the Swordsmith Village arc, which confirms the new characters in the upcoming anime.

"Demon Slayer" Season 3 was announced in February, but it was during the franchise's anniversary event titled Demon Slayer Festival 2022 – Anime 3rd Anniversary Celebrations, on Saturday, that Aniplex rolled out the first teaser trailer of the "Swordsmith Village" arc, the confirmed storyline of the third season of "Kimetsu no Yaiba."

The trailer, which is available below, features the major events of the anime, including the epic fight between Gyutaro and Tengen Uzui from the second season. However, the tease for the third season comes in the last part, where Kamado Tanjiro shows off his new sword after he broke the old one in the previous arc.

"Kimetsu no Yaiba" Season 3 brings fans to the place where the swords of the Demon Slayer corps were forged as Tanjiro seeks out Haganezuka, the swordsmith who made his Nichirin Sword. With his most recent feat, killing an Upper Rank Six Demon, Muzan will stop at nothing to have Tanjiro killed and what better way to execute the assassination than in the place where the young demon slayer would get his weapon.

The teaser trailer confirmed the return of characters that fans have not seen in the series for quite some time, including the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Genya Shinazugawa, who first appeared during the Final Selection. Based on the manga version of the Swordsmith Village arc, it is anticipated that the anime will feature 13 episodes, which is a bit short in terms of episode count, considering that Season 1 has 26 and Season 2 has 18 episodes.

"Kimetsu no Yaiba: Swordsmith Village" arc has no official release date yet but based on the launch pattern of animes in Japan, it is expected to roll out either during the Spring 2023 (April) or Fall 2023 (September-October) schedule.

Ufotable, the Japanese animation studio behind "Kimetsu no Yaiba," has been consistent with its output and since it usually takes between 12 and 18 months before a new season is ripe for release, it could be sometime in the second half of 2023.
