Denise Richards has nothing but praise for the late actress Kirstie Alley.

Richards, 51, recounted her filming experience with Alley, who succumbed to colon cancer Monday. She was 71.

Alley and Richards played mother and daughter in the 1999 satirical mockumentary black comedy movie "Drop Dead Gorgeous." Richards shared a throwback photo of them on Instagram from the film and expressed how "lucky" she was for the opportunity to work with Alley.

"Kirstie is one of the funniest, nicest & strongest women I've ever met," the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum began. "I am so lucky & grateful that I got to do a movie with her playing my mom."

Richards also shared how it felt working with the "Kirstie" star. She admitted she was "intimidated," but Alley made her comfortable on set.

"I was quite intimidated to work with her, but she immediately made me feel so comfortable. She had a heart of gold & deep love for animals. Her laugh was infectious & she lit up every room she walked into," Richards continued.

She concluded her post by writing, "Kirstie, you are loved by so many & will be so very missed. Prayers to your kids & grandkids."

Several netizens commented on Richards' post. Many also praised Richards and Alley's movie.

"A classic film. You were both great in it. True icons. My thoughts are with you in this time," one wrote.

Another added, "One of my favorite movies of all time. Kirstie was sooo funny & full of light, she will be missed."

"I knew you would post this picture. Your duo in this movie is iconic. [M]y condolences, Denise," a third user wrote.

"Hands down one of my favorite movies of all time! So many big names. CLASSIC! I can't wait till my daughter is a little older to show her. I'm going to watch it tonight!" another fan shared.

"Drop Dead Gorgeous" also stars Kirsten Dunst, Ellen Barkin, Allison Janney and Amy Adams, who made her big-screen debut in the movie, Us Weekly reported.

The Emmy-winning actress died following her battle with cancer. Her children, True and Lilie Parker, confirmed her death on their social media accounts.

"To all our friends, far and wide around the world... We are sad to inform you that our incredible, fierce and loving mother has passed away after a battle with cancer, only recently discovered," the statement read on her Twitter and Instagram pages read. "She was surrounded by her closest family and fought with great strength, leaving us with a certainty of her never-ending joy of living and whatever adventures lie ahead. As iconic as she was on screen, she was an even more amazing mother and grandmother."
