KEY POINTS

  • Titans and Warlocks were tuned to match their intended power fantasies
  • Hunters were unchanged in the hotfix
  • A few notable bugs involving weapons, armor and activities were also fixed

After admitting that the Solar 3.0 update didn’t meet expectations, “Destiny 2” developer Bungie pushed through with a few notable buffs for Dawnblades and Sunbreakers in the game’s latest mid-week patch.

The developers previously said that the subclass update was underwhelming in some parts, according to their last “This Week At Bungie.” Due to this, they decided to grant some substantial upgrades for certain Warlock and Titan abilities to help keep the healer and fire god fantasies alive. The changes are as follows:

  • Warlock
    • Celestial Fire now inflicts 10 Scorch stacks per projectile (15 with Ember of Ashes)
    • Icarus Dash now heals players when rapidly defeating targets with Supers or weapons while airborne
    • Heat Rises now applies Cure x2 when consuming a grenade. Consuming Healing Grenades strengthens this effect to Cure x3. Touch of Flame Healing Grenades grant provides Restoration when consumed
  • Titan
    • Burning Maul now deals 25% more damage in PvE
    • Roaring Flames empowers unpowered melee attacks, causing them to apply 30 stacks of Scorch per hit (40 with Ember of Ashes)
    • Consecration now has two fragment slots, and the secondary wave’s height has been increased by 25% to make hitting airborne targets easier

These changes should solidify the fantasies intended for each class while also alleviating some of the pain points the community raised.

Warlocks should now be more adept at healing teammates, and the Dawnblade subclass can now dominate the skies with superior aerial prowess. Meanwhile, Titans received what is essentially the old Mortar Blast ability, and their offensive abilities should now be much stronger and more reliable than before.

Unfortunately, Hunters didn’t get any changes, although the class already has everything it needs to succeed.

The patch also introduced some big bug fixes. Here are a few notable ones:

  • Master Duality no longer drops pinnacle gear more than once per week
  • Gumshoe/Inspector/Midnight Oil armor pieces no longer drop legendary shards when dismantled
  • Firefright and Trespasser can now be re-obtained from the Collections tab
  • Ember of Benevolence now activates more consistently
  • Vortex, Voidwall and Solar Grenades now deal their intended damage values in PvE
  • Enhanced Bait and Switch now works as intended
