Diane Kruger and Elizabeth Banks ruled the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 72nd Venice International Film Festival Wednesday. The actresses’ unleashed their sartorial style in color-coordinated looks for the premiere of “Everest”. Their dramatic gowns won hands down during the occasion.

The 39-year-old Kruger looked stunning in a white Prada confection. The dress featured heavy beaded embellishment, a stunning cape and a column design that showed off her petite figure. The floor-sweeping gown also featured subtle side cut-outs, E! News reported.

She channeled old-school Hollywood glamour with a chic up-do. She accessorized with statement diamond studs by Kwiat and a simple metallic box clutch by Lee Savage. Kruger paired the dress with matching heels.

The evening wear showed off her toned arms and her svelte frame. Her flawless makeup consisted of some mascara, black eyeliner and light shade of lipstick.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Banks, 41, also served up high fashion look in a white Dolce & Gabbana gown that featured a bare back. She gave a whole new meaning to bringing sexy back with the bare detailing.

Her show-stopping ensemble featured jewelled embellishments on the waist like a belt, on the high neckline as well as on the sleeveless detailing. The “Hunger Games” actress also showed off intricate detailing on the open back of her dress, featuring diamante ribbons and black panels. Banks shared a snapshot of the gown from behind on Instagram, revealing just how exquisite the design and jeweled adornments look.

The fishtail gown had a fitted bodice. She opted for deep red lipstick, and accessorized with small diamond earrings and a box clutch. She matched her look with black sky high heels.

Both Kruger and Banks opted for elegant floral designs during the jury photocall during the day. The former wore sleeveless Preen by Thornton Bregazzi dress with horizontal paneling and matching patent leather booties by Chelsea. Banks wore Dolce & Gabbana dress with oversize white rose petals and red and gold detail, strappy stilettos that featured white flowers at the heel.

The actresses are on the jury panel this year for the festival. Both Diane and Elizabeth will do the judging at 72nd annual event, where they would form part of The Venezia 72 Competition jury.
