Celebrities usually have their own unique way of celebrating Valentine’s Day and commemorating the event with their loved ones, and Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were not an exception.

Despite living in two different states, Shelton made sure to surprise his ladylove on Valentine’s Day. According to Entertainment Tonight, Stefani, who is set to return to “The Voice” as a coach for the third time, shared that she got some flowers and several texts from Shelton since they are living apart. Stefani is currently in New York City, while Shelton is in Oklahoma.

“We weren't together,” the 47-year-old “Hollaback Girl” singer shared, E! News quoted. “I was here and he was in Oklahoma. He forgot! No, just kidding. I got some beautiful flowers and lots of texts. Well, as fun as spending the romantic holiday in separate states can be. I mean, you know... I'm in New York and he's in Oklahoma.”

Stefani only had good words to say about Shelton, gushing that she’s “lucky” to have him in her life. She added that the 40-year-old country crooner is the “greatest guy ever.”

Prior to Valentine’s Day, Stefani revealed during Revlon’s “Choose Love” event at Tribeca Rooftop in New York City on Tuesday that she won’t be spending the holiday with Shelton. Instead she will be in bed alone, People noted.

“I am going to be in bed. I have no kids here, no nobody here,” Stefani, 47, told moderator and YouTube star Kandee Johnson during a discussion of “Love, Life, and Makeup.” “It’s an empty hotel room. It’s gonna be so awesome. No one’s gonna ask for anything. It’s gonna be silent.”

Meanwhile, Stefani also opened up about her excitement over returning as one of the coaches on “The Voice.” Even though she admitted that she felt nervous and awkward at first, Stefani said they do help one another. In fact, she has learned a lot about country music from Shelton.

Aside from her voicing out her thoughts about working with her beau, she also had a lot of positive things to say about fellow “The Voice” judges, Alicia Keys and Adam Levine. “Three seasons [in], you get comfortable. [I love] the chemistry between the coaches! Alicia Keys is just so magical. Adam and I, we've known each other for a while,” Stefani said. “And, of course, [I love] Blake, who I think is the greatest guy ever. It's so fun. It's easy and comfortable.”
