It appears not even the season of giving can fix Meghan Markle’s relationship with her dad, Thomas Markle.

Kensington Palace shared Meghan and Prince Harry’s 2018 Christmas Card online on Friday for all to see, but those close to the couple received physical copies. During an interview with “Good Morning Britain” on Monday, Thomas revealed he wasn’t one of the lucky few to get one.

“You’ve never had a Christmas where she hasn’t sent you a card. I mean, would you just love to just get something from her at this stage,” anchor Piers Morgan asked Thomas, alluding to the rift between the father and daughter.

“Yes, I would appreciate a card or a phone call or just some sign that she knows I’m here,” Thomas responded.

“Have you not even received a Christmas card yet, Thomas,” anchor Susanna Reid asked.

“No, I have not,” he replied.

Thomas isn’t the only close relative of Meghan’s to have some thoughts about the royal Christmas card. The Sun reported that the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, tweeted from her private account about her issues with the holiday card.

“Interesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have their backs turned,” Samantha allegedly wrote. “Is this towards the world or just the Ragland and Markle family?”

She reportedly continued: “It’s incredibly rude to turn your back in a Christmas photo that is meant to share warmth and good wishes with the world. Those that criticize me for pointing out the truth, need to get that brown stuff off their noses.”

Samantha did not reveal whether or not she received a Christmas card from Meghan, though because of their rift, it’s unlikely she did.
