“A Discovery of Witches” Season 2 will take the fans to Elizabethan London. A first look picture of the next season has been released, and details about the locations and cast have also surfaced online.

A first look still from Season 2 that has been released on Twitter shows the witch, Diana (Teresa Palmer), holding the hands of the vampire, Matthew De Clermont (Matthew Goode). “We’ve finally arrived at Elizabethan London...” the post reads.

Along with the costumes of the Elizabethan London, the photo also teased one of the locations the fans will get to see. According to Entertainment Weekly, the place that Diana and Matthew are seen in is Blackfriars.

Blackfriars is an important location in the books written by Deborah Harkness, on which the TV series is based. This is the location that Diana and Matthew will travel to in order to escape the Congregation. While here, the duo will also attempt to unravel the mysteries of Ashmole 782 or the Book of Life.

While the fans will get to see what life will be like in Blackfriars in “A Discovery of Witches” Season 2, cast member Steven Cree said on Twitter that he would like to see more of the vampires on the show. Reacting to his comment, the official Twitter page of the show had no comment.

Cree will be playing the role of a hunky vampire known as Gallowglass. According to the official character description, the vampire is a “soldier of fortune who holds a soft spot for his uncle.” The actor has been preparing to play the role by reading the book “Shadow of Night” while travelling on a train.

“A Discovery of Witches” Season 2 is set to air sometime in 2020. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date for the show.
