What happens to Kate Middleton’s HRH title after she received the highest rank from Queen Elizabeth II?

Last month, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary. On the same day, Queen Elizabeth II appointed Middleton the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Middleton’s new rank is “extremely prestigious” because it’s the highest rank a sovereign can bestow upon someone for their personal services to the sovereign.

Now some are wondering if the Duchess of Cambridge still holds her HRH title. According to Sarra Gray, a journalist for Express, Middleton still holds all of her previous titles including her HRH status.

Middleton is expected to have an even greater title when Prince William takes over the throne. The Duchess of Cambridge will become queen consort when the time comes.

However, prior to that, she might inherit Princess Diana’s title “Princess of Wales.” When Prince Charles becomes the new king, Prince William will be the new Prince of Wales and his wife will be the Princess of Wales.

However, this will not be automatically granted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince Charles has to grant the title to his eldest son as a “personal honor.” When Prince William is officially the new Prince of Wales, only then will Middleton become the Princess of Wales.

In related news, according to Omid Scobie, prior to Meghan Markle’s arrival in Prince Harry’s life, he was often seen giggling with his sister-in-law. Middleton gave the Duke of Sussex the supportive female presence he needed in his life. However, they somehow lost their “close ties” when Prince Harry and Prince William were feuding.

Just recently, Middleton and Prince Harry reunited at Anzac Day service. According to a source, Markle’s husband wasn’t expected at the event, but he chose to accompany Middleton in the last minute as it was a great opportunity for them to be together because Prince William was in New Zealand.

A source said it was Prince Harry’s way of making a public apology to her sister-in-law. The insider added that Prince Harry doesn’t want to destroy what he has with Middleton.
