Donald Trump snubbed wife Melania Trump’s decor taste for the White House.

The president of the United States seems to have a different style than his wife. According to Kate Bennett in her book “Free Melania,” the FLOTUS didn’t move to the White House right after Trump’s inauguration because she had the place renovated.

Melania reportedly didn’t like the way Michelle and Barack Obama decorated the place, so she had it redone. However, it seemed that the POTUS also didn’t like his wife’s decor style because he reportedly changed the furniture Melania chose by replacing it with a ton of gold.

Melania is a former fashion model and prefers clean and modern lines. However, in her absence, Trump who likes Louis XIV’s style replaced Melania’s choices with several pieces that suit his taste better, Political Flare reported.

Those familiar with the situation said that it was “an example of Mr. Trump’s tendency not to relent on even the smallest request from his wife.” However, Melania’s spokesperson Stephanie Grisham denied the claims and insisted that the decision to change the furniture in the White House was made by the first couple together. “They both chose the décor,” Grisham said.

Melania occupied a two-room space on the third floor of the White House. The space was previously occupied by Michelle’s mom, Marian Robinson. She didn’t like the way Obama’s decorator Michael S. Smith designed it because she wasn’t a fan of the beige and burnt orange palette. Thus, she only kept very little of the $1.5 million Obama decor in place which the previous first family paid for out of their own pocket.

In related news, Melania was recently mocked for her holocaust post. The FLOTUS commemorated the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and wrote, “On International #HolocaustRemembranceDay let us take time to honor the victims and survivors, and vow to combat all acts of evil against humanity. #WeRemember.” However, her post was flooded with comments about getting her husband out of the office.

“And FIRST AND FOREMOST we can combat this by voting your husband OUT OF OFFICE!!! This is the best way to combat evil!!!” one online user opined.
