Melania Trump did not move into the White House immediately due to the Obamas.

It wasn’t a secret that the first lady opted to remain in the Trump’s penthouse in New York with her son Barron instead of moving into the White House with President Donald Trump following his inauguration. According to CNN correspondent Kate Bennett in her book “Free, Melania,” the FLOTUS stayed because she didn’t like how the Obamas decorated the White house. Melania reportedly had it completely redecorated before she moved in.

According to Bennett, the first lady stays on the third floor in a two-room space that was previously occupied by Michelle’s mom, Marian Robinson. The floor includes a solarium, a massive sun-filled space where first families usually enjoy more comfort compared to the other places in their residence. First Lady Grace Coolidge was the first to build the space and called it her “sky parlor.” But the FLOTUS didn’t like how Michelle and Barack Obama renovated it.

“She had it redecorated when she moved in, as she wasn’t a fan of the beige and burnt orange palette the Obamas’ decorator, Michael S. Smith, had done the room in,” Bennett wrote.

“Melania kept very little of the Obama decor, which the Obamas reportedly paid for out of pocket, to the tune of $1.5 million by the end of their eight years in the White House.”

Bennett noted that at present, the solarium is white and it reflects Melania’s aesthetics. Most of the furniture is white and warm, the artwork is traditional and it screams comfort.

In related news, Melania slyly snubbed Michelle after taking over the @FLOTUS Twitter account. It turned out that the FLOTUS account doesn’t follow the former first lady. However she follows Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Michelle does the same but not to Melania. The ex-FLOTUS still follows the current first lady but she also does not follow the president.

In 2018, Piers Morgan slammed Michelle for throwing shade at Melania to sell books. The TV presenter didn’t like how Michelle said “Bye Felicia!” and crunched her face when she was asked by Jimmy Fallon about the scene in front of the White House with Melania and Trump during the latter’s inauguration.
