Donald Trump and Melania Trump are currently in India for their two-day engagement.

Hours after their arrival, an official photograph featuring the first couple outside the Taj Mahal was released. In the snap, the POTUS is standing very close to his wife, but they evidently avoided making a public display of affection.

Even though their fingers appeared to be almost touching each other, the FLOTUS did not extend her hand to hold her husband’s.

Trump and the FLOTUS have stopped engaging in public displays of affection ever since the former became president of the United States. Prior to him taking the office, the POTUS was always photographed holding hands with the first lady.

Earlier this month, the first couple surprised their supporters when the POTUS grabbed the FLOTUS and tried to give her a kiss on the lips, but the latter retracted so the kiss landed on her cheek instead.

In January, the couple also made headlines after it appeared as though the FLOTUS snatched her hand away from her husband during one of their public outings. The gesture sparked rumors that the POTUS and the FLOTUS are not in love.

Meanwhile, the Daily Beast also analyzed Trump and Melania’s body language during their trip to the Taj Mahal. The publication claimed that the FLOTUS has been known for looking absolutely miserable whenever she’s with the POTUS, and this week’s outing was no exception.

“One tabloid described the pair as loved-up, which is as big of a stretch as the notion that burger-loving Trump enjoyed his meatless Monday in India. Still, the Trumps were able to hold hands for a while, and they stood close while watching a flock of birds flies away, like two characters from a gothic poem,” journalist Alaina Demopoulos said.

On Twitter, netizens couldn’t also help but weigh in on the POTUS and Melania’s relationship after seeing their photo.

“Melania, what is it about holding hands with Donald that you find so detestable? Inquiring…” Twitter user @DotUrada said.

“Whenever you see them holding hands, that’s the fake Melania,” Twitter user @booradley1961 said.
