French Elle Racist Blog Post
French Elle is currently under fire for what has been interpreted as a racist blog post. A blogger for the publication wrote a piece about Michelle Obama's fashion flair and the rise of "black-geosie," insinuating that the Obamas are the first fashionable African-Americans. Reuters

After dazzling onlookers with the one-shoulder purple gown worn by Michelle Obama, designer Doo-Ri Chung has hit the news again for being the next name for Macy's Capsule Collection Series.

The retail brand of affordable fashion and luxury brands has asked the acclaimed fashion designer to partner for its capsule initiative which is now in its second year. With this initiative, Macy's has introduced a range of exclusive collection with the help of celebrated designers from the United States and around the globe.

Starting Feb.15, 2012, Doo Ri's Macy's collection will be sold in around 225 company stores nationwide and on the official Web site.

My clothes have always been about making women feel elegant and modern, which is why I am so excited about this capsule collection, states Doo-Ri Chung. It truly embodies the confidence and creativity of the modern woman.

The Doo-Ri capsule is said to reflect the designer's signature styling and treasured craftsmanship that have made her an instant success. With modest, yet intriguing details, from the choice of fabric to her signature draping, the Doo-Ri capsule is a fusion of sumptuous and collectible pieces that can easily transition from day to night.

Doo-Ri understands what women want to wear and how elements like fabric and silhouette can flatter the body. The collection's balance of ultra-feminine styling and use of print and color embodies exactly what our customer is looking for when shopping for spring fashion, states Jeff Gennette, Macy's chief merchandising officer.
