Drake raked in a ton of money last year but is apparently satisfied with his old earnings. He posted a picture on Instagram Tuesday of his $8.25 residual check from his role on "Degrassi: The Next Generation." This led some to wonder how much the "Signs" rapper is worth.

"Degrassi money still coming in don't sleeeeeeeep," the caption of the photo read.

The rapper, born Aubrey Drake Graham, has an estimated net worth of $90 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. His role as wheelchair-bound Jimmy Brooks garnered him fame before he arrived on the music scene.

Graham’s music career started in 2006 when he released his first mixtape "Room for Improvement" on his website and official MySpace music page. Rapper Lil' Wayne received some of Graham’s songs in 2008 from Jas Prince, founder of Rap-A-Lot. Lil' Wayne and Graham toured Houston in 2009. Graham inked a deal with Lil' Wayne’s Young Money record label Young Money Entertainment.

Since his deal with Lil' Wayne, Graham has worked with the music industry’s top artists including Kanye West, Eminem and Jay-Z. The Canadian rapper released four studio albums that sold a combined 10 million copies. On top of that, Graham grossed approximately $1 million per concert, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Graham expounded on his wealth after signing endorsement deals with Sprite, Nike and Apple. His "Views" tour landed him over $1 million a year according to Business Insider. Last year, his "Views" album became the first to notch a billion plays on Apple Music.

Graham was named one of 2017's wealthiest rappers in Hip-Hop by Forbes. His mansion in Los Angeles is worth $8 million and has one of the biggest privately-owned pools on the West Coast, according to Business Insider.

However, the Canadian rapper added another source of income to his list. Graham partnered with ex-financer Brent Hocking and drink company Promixo Spirits and launched Virginia Black whiskey in June 2016, according to Business Insider.

"We hit it off on our love for basketball, music, style, fashion," he told Business Insider. "We were like-minded. Over a couple years getting to know each other deciding if we wanted to work together, I told him what I saw on the marketplace next with the whiskey category, the hole I saw, and the style of the brand I wanted to bring out with Virginia Black."

Hocking added, "Drake really connected with that and was all in at that point, he had a lot to contribute. He’s a connoisseur himself. He loves wine. He doesn’t just drink, he asks."

Virgin Black is a whiskey brand that aimed to "create a whiskey for everyone to enjoy, regardless of gender, age, location," Hocking said.
