Dwayne Johnson's daughter, Simone Johnson, is all set to make her WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) debut as she teased her ring name, Ava Raine, on Twitter.

Simone, 20, who signed a contract with WWE in 2020, changed her name on the microblogging platform Sunday and posted a laughing GIF.

Fans took to the comments section to share their reactions.

"That name rocks! ...uhh, no pun intended," a fan jokingly wrote considering her father's ring name was "The Rock." Another fan commented, "They should called you the the rock rains," while a user added, "Can't wait for your debut!!"

One of the users cracked the same joke, "I'm slightly disappointed she won't be known as The Pebble" to which Simone replied, "I beg of you guys to find a new joke. anything."

She went on to share an image featuring all the types of rocks, including igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. "Nothing in this category please," she captioned the photo.

A WWE Journalist named Louis Dagoor wrote that it doesn't make sense to give Simone a new name and not acknowledge that her father is The Rock.

"Giving Simeone Johnson, the daughter of THE ROCK, a new name is completely nonsensical," Dagoor tweeted. "Will hold judgment until she debuts, but if WWE doesn’t acknowledge her dad is The Rock that’s ridiculous."

Simone went on to explain, "I probably sound like a broken record & hopefully this is the last i’ll mention this but i don’t understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic. A name doesn’t discredit any prior accomplishments from any family."

She also shared that even if she builds her entire career around her father's legacy, she would still get bashed anyway. In a separate tweet, she also thanked those who supported her decision to change her name.

Simone will be the fourth generation of her family to become a wrestler. Apart from her famous father, her grandfather Rocky Johnson and great-grandfather Peter Maivia were also into professional wrestling.

Dwayne shares Simone with his ex-wife Dany Garcia. The former couple was married from 1997 to 2008. Aside from Simone, Dwayne also shares two daughters - Jasmine, 6, and Tiana Gia, 4 - with his wife Lauren Hashian. The couple got married in 2019.
