Julianne Hough may be interested in getting back with ex-husband Brooks Laich months after the "Dancing with the Stars" judge and hockey player announced their split.

Despite confirming their separation in May, amicable exes Hough and Laich continue to hang out and are sometimes spotted in public together. But the two may give their relationship another try in the future after a source revealed that Hough wants to make things work and doesn't want to lose a man like Laich.

"Brooks really still wants to make it work and she's considering it but taking her time. He's open to whatever it will take," a source told People, adding that the former "America's Got Talent" judge still has feelings for Laich.

"Julianne likes the idea of freedom but doesn't want to lose such a good, solid guy," the insider continued. "Everyone who knows him knows how grounded and great he is. Her friends and family don't want her to lose someone like that."

Another source told People in July that Laich is "definitely still open to getting back together with Julianne."

"If that were an option, he would be all in," the insider said. "Her friends and family love him, and everyone is pulling for him. He's a great guy, and they would love to see Julianne give things another chance."

On Thursday, Hough and Laich were spotted having lunch together in Los Angeles. The exes were photographed sitting outside of an Italian restaurant and later left the place together.

Hough also invited Laich when she celebrated her 32nd birthday last month. The exes had a blast at a pool party with a few pals, including Hough's best friend, Nina Dobrev, who documented the party on her Instagram Story.

Meanwhile, Hough and Laich's breakup did not come as a surprise for some fans, who claim their marriage had been doomed from the start. Others noticed that the two had been spending time apart in the months leading up to the announcement of their separation.

Hough and Laich didn't quarantine together when the coronavirus outbreak hit. The pro dancer had been in Los Angeles, while Laich was in Idaho.

An insider earlier said the two had different perspectives on important issues, telling Us Weekly, "There's still love there, but not in a romantic sense."
