October is a month full of frights, and that will certainly be the case on Lifetime, with the network’s “Fear The Cheer” movie event, which will bring a deadly side to school spirit, starting with the premiere of the first new film, “Dying to Be a Cheerleader,” starring Dominique Booth, Kalen Bull, Nicolette Langley and Ashlynn Yennie.

While Booth is a new star to Lifetime, who has only starred in the horror film “Boogeyman Pop,” her co-stars have all had previous roles on the network, while also working in other projects as well. Bull previously starred in “The Wrong Cheerleader” in 2019, as Jen, and has also worked on the film “Sterling Silver,” where she portrayed Amber Silver. Langely stared as Kylie in this year’s “Beware of Mom” feature, and may also be recognized for her work in ION TV’s “Christmas Matchmakers.”

Most recognized however is likely Yennie, who has not only starred as Phoebe in “The Wrong Mommy,” Jordyn in “Hidden Intentions” and Jamie in “The Wrong Neighbor,” but also appeared as Ashley in the Showtime limited series “Submission.”

What will happen in this thriller? According to a synopsis, the quest to be one of the It girls at school and join the squad takes a deadly turn that could change everything.

“After her mother’s untimely death, Darcy (Booth) moves in with her aunt Cassandra (Yennie) for a fresh start,” the synopsis reads. “On her first day at her new school, Darcy is mesmerized by The Amazons, the school’s cheer squad led by Taylor (Bull) and April (Langley) and decides to try out.”

However, a murder quickly causes Darcy’s life to spiral out-of-control.

“When one of the cheerleaders on the team is found dead in the gym showers, Darcy finds herself as the main suspect,” the synopsis says.

The film is produced by MarVista Entertainment and premieres Saturday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
