“Dynasty” has received its official time slot. The CW will release the first episode of “Dynasty” Season 1 on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EDT. However, the actual premiere date has yet to be announced by the network.

Dynasty” will follow the lives of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys. The new CW series will also serve as a modernized reboot of the classic ‘80s soap opera, and it will star “Devious Maids” alum Grant Show as the patriarch, Blake.

The series will be told primarily from the perspective of two women who are at odds with each other. Blake’s daughter, Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gillies), and Blake’s soon-to-be-wife, Cristal (Nathalie Kelley). Fallon is unsupportive of her dad’s decision to tie the knot with Cristal and will try to prove that the latter is only after Blake’s fortune. Cristal, on the other hand, pretends to be madly in love with Blake, but the truth is, she just wants to take over his business and his entire family.

In the teaser released by the network for “Dynasty” Season 1, Fallon is surprised to see Blake and Cristal making out on the table. At first glance, Fallon already knows that Cristal cannot be trusted. Unfortunately, her dad seems to be blinded by her beauty. At one point, Fallon and Cristal will have a confrontation with each other.

Fallon will try to remind her dad of the importance of family, especially the ones he is related to by blood. Cristal, on the other hand, will pitch her side of the story to Blake and tell him that she doesn’t think Fallon will ever be able to accept her as her stepmom.

“Dynasty” Season 1 will also feature a gay relationship between Fallon’s brother and another character. The two will try to keep things a secret for fear that they will be judged.

Other cast members include Sam Adegoke, Robert Christopher Riley, Rafael de la Fuente, Alan Dale and James Mackay.
