Lucy Hale will be moving on from Freeform to The CW with her new series, “Life Sentence.”

According to TV Line, The CW gave “Life Sentence” an official series order on Wednesday, May 10. The series will follow the life of a woman diagnosed with terminal cancer. However, the lead character soon finds out that she’s not going to die after all. This will result in Hale’s character forcing her to live with the choices she made when she thought was dying. “Life Sentence” also stars Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jason Blair, Brooke Lyons and Carlos PenaVega.

“Life Sentence” is executive produced by Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Lee Toland Krieger. Hale will also be reuniting with “Pretty Little Liars” executive producer Oliver Goldstick, since the latter will act as executive producer for the upcoming The CW dramedy.

Ahead of the premiere of “Life Sentence,” fans can first see Hale give life to her character, Aria, in the final episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight last month, Hale hinted on the fate of Aria and Ezra’s (Ian Harding) relationship. The two characters got engaged, but Ezra became very absent when his ex-girlfriend, Nicole (Rebecca Breeds), resurfaced. Hale said that there’s still hope for Aria and Ezra to get married in the finale, but this won’t be a breeze. “She might get her happy ending but Aria definitely has quite a dark path to go down in these last 10 episodes,” she said.

Hale added that it was her idea to write Aria in such a way that it will be cool for the character. “It was like the first time I went to the writers and was like, ‘Please give Aria something cool to end with,’ and they listened. I got to do things I’ve never done before on this show and not only that but things that I’ve never done before in acting, period. You’ll see what I’m talking about in a couple episodes, but it was very fun, so, I felt very satisfied when we finished with my character,” she said.

As of late, not much has happened to Aria in the final episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” Season 7. The mysterious character A.D. came up with a game and urged all five liars to participate. As of late, only Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) have done their part. By the looks of it, Aria’s contribution to the game will take place in the upcoming episodes. But before this, she first helped Emily track down one of Jenna’s (Tammin Sursok).

She also saw Ezra and Nicole’s reunion on television and pretended to not be affected by the estranged couple’s closeness. In addition, Aria tried to break into Radley, but Holden (Shane Coffey) stopped her from doing so. Holden and Aria previously flirted with each other when they were still in school, but they never became a couple. There are ongoing rumors suggesting that Aria and Holden could end up together if Ezra chooses to be with Nicole.

“Pretty Little Liars” Season 7 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform.
