Video game company Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that it will be attending Star Wars Celebration 2017 which will take place April 13–16 in Orlando, Florida. It’s also been discovered recently that Lucasfilm has applied to trademark “Star Wars: Rivals,” which might possibly be a new TV show or video game.

EA is known as the creator of “Star Wars Battlefront,” “Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes” and “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” The company is expected to make some announcements on its future projects at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, possibly an update on “Star Wars Battlefront 2.”

EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen recently teased that the sequel to 2015’s “Battlefront” will be “dramatically larger” and will feature “a lot of new characters” from the most recent films, according to GameSpot. He also once again confirmed that the sequel will feature a single player campaign mode.

EA will also be allowing fans to play the latest mobile “Star Wars” games right on the show floor, including “Galaxy of Heroes,” “Force Collection” and “Star Wars: Pinball.” There will also be an offsite community event for “The Old Republic” where fans will be able to talk with the game’s designers and developers from BioWare, accoridng to StarWars.com.

In other “Star Wars” news, Lucasfilm and Disney has filed to trademark “Star Wars: Rivals.” It has sparked some debate in the community as to what exactly this new property is going to be as there are currently two trademark applications that still need approval, according to Gizmodo.

One of the applications describes “Star Wars: Rivals” for “education and entertainment services” which seems like a very vague description. The other application appears to be a lot more broad since it lists a bunch of different possible products and or services, including being a “downloadable game software” or “downloadable mobile applications.”

Some believe that “Star Wars: Rivals” might be a new animated TV series, while others think that it might be a new video game. The DisneyXD animated series, “Star Wars: Rebels,” is currently being rumored that it will end after its third season. “Rivals” could possibly be the replacement for “Rebels.”

Star Wars Celebration Orlando is just weeks away, and fans might be getting a lot of new and exciting announcements at the event.
