Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn have welcomed their second baby together. The Grammy winner took to his Instagram page Thursday to surprise his fans with the baby announcement.

Sharing a snap of a pair of baby socks, Sheeran wrote, "Want to let you all know we've had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x."

Sheeran and Seaborn, who tied the knot in 2019, welcomed their firstborn, Lyra Antarctica, in 2020. At the time also, the couple posted a photo of a pair of baby socks on Instagram to symbolize their daughter's arrival.

"Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you," he wrote. "Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter — Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her."

While appearing as a guest on "Lorraine" last year, Sheeran opened up about being a father and how he and his wife had decided on their daughter's name. "I realize some people think it's quite a strange name," he said. "But my wife's called Cherry, and she is the only Cherry that I've ever met and I think that she's the only Cherry that she's ever met and I quite like that. In my class at school, there were probably more Eds."

He explained that they wanted to give their daughter a name that was unique "so that she would be the only one." He, however, acknowledged that "Lyra" was slightly more popular at the time since it's the name of the protagonist in Philip Pullman's "His Dark Materials."

The singer said the name Antarctica had always been on their list of potential names for their child. "When tour finished, I've basically toured every single continent but I've never been to Antarctica so that was always on our list," he said.

Since welcoming Lyra, the couple has kept much of their family life private. In fact, they did not announce that a second baby was already on the way. The couple has yet to reveal the name of their new baby.
