Adula’s Moonblade is one of the strongest and most flexible sorceries in “Elden Ring” due to its sheer damage output, wide range and its ability to build up Frostbite on all enemies it hits.

Any mage who wants a solid short-mid ranged melee spell can rely on Adula’s Moonblade as a staple in their arsenal. Not only can it destroy weak enemies in just a few hits, but it can also be extremely useful as a damage tool in boss fights, especially against those who are weak to cold damage.

To get Adula’s Moonblade, players need to venture out into Liurnia of the Lakes, past the boss fight in Caria Manor and into the Three Sisters area. Upon stepping out of this area, players will be greeted by a large, glintstone-breathing dragon named Adula.

Naturally, players must kill Adula to get its eponymous Moonblade spell. However, the dragon cannot be killed in Three Sisters. Once its health gets low enough, it will teleport to a different location.

To fight the dragon again, players must progress through Ranni’s questline and into the Cathedral of Manus Celes. This cathedral lies past the Deep Ainsel River area, and the path is blocked by Astel, Natural Born of the Void.

Once players manage to defeat the giant space skeleton scorpion, the path to the cathedral will open. From there, hunt down the dragon again until it drops Adula’s Moonblade along with three Dragon Hearts.

Adula’s Moonblade counts as a Snow Witch sorcery, which means that its damage output can be increased by wearing the Snow Witch Hat. This hat can be looted from the chest on the top floor of Renna’s Rise.

The spell requires 31 INT to use and each cast will consume 26 FP. It only costs one memory slot.

As for staff choice, the Carian Glintstone Staff is recommended. Despite being a Snow Witch sorcery, the Carian Glintstone Staff still buffs Moonblade’s damage because it also counts as Carian sword sorcery.

However, players should aim for other staves if they don’t plan on using Adula’s Moonblade as their main source of damage.
