Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) catches a kidnapper all by himself in the trailer for this week’s episode of “Elementary.”

In the 20-second preview clip for Season 5, episode 11, titled “Be My Guest,” Sherlock tells Joan (Lucy Liu) and Shinwell (Nelsan Ellis) how he knew that the guy he caught is holding a woman prisoner somewhere.

“I read his lips. I picked his pocket, and I broke into his phone,” the London-born sleuth reveals.

While the arrested guy won’t disclose his captive’s secret location, the promo video reveals that he has an accomplice. So Sherlock and the rest of the team must quickly identify the kidnapper’s partner in crime before something bad happens to the female detainee.

The synopsis for the episode also reveals that Sherlock and Joan are going to help Shinwell become a better informant, aiding him in his mission to dismantle SBK from the inside. Joan, however, becomes frustrated when Shinwell refuses to focus on his informant training.

Shinwell training under the wing of Sherlock is quite surprising, as the latter wasn’t really pleased when he learned in Season 5, episode 10 that the ex-con is still informing on SBK to the authorities despite giving him a “second second chance” to start his life anew.

“When I committed a felony to keep Shinwell out of prison, it was so he would have the opportunity to get his life straight,” Sherlock furiously told Joan in the episode. “I thought he’ll find a clever way to extricate himself from the gang!”

“He is getting his life straight. He is finishing what he started,” Joan replied, defending her former patient’s decision. “He risked his life to get back into SBK. They trust him. [And] he doesn’t just wanna waste that.”

“Elementary” Season 5, episode 11 airs on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
