Ellen DeGeneres has opened up about the night she had to rush her wife, Portia de Rossi, to the hospital last month.

DeGeneres joined Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday's episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live," where the 63-year-old talk show host shared that she drank three "weed drinks" prior to their trip to the hospital.

DeGeneres, who noted earlier in the interview that she's never succeeded in getting high, revealed that she drank Cann — a beverage with THC and CBD — that had been given to her by Chelsea Handler.

"They have CBD or TH... I don't know what the good thing is, but it has something," she said. "I drank one and I didn't feel anything, so I drank three. I took two melatonin sleep pills."

That night, de Rossi had gone to bed early because she wasn't feeling well. "I'm laying in bed and I realize she's not in bed. I said, 'Are you OK? Baby, are you OK?' She's moaning. I get out of bed and she's on the ground on all fours," DeGeneres recalled.

"I go, 'You're not OK.' She goes, 'I'm OK.' I said, 'No, unless you're playing Twister by yourself, you're not OK.' So I rushed her to the emergency room," the comedian continued.

Kimmel then asked DeGeneres if she drove her wife to the emergency room herself.

"I did. I kicked in, my adrenaline, because I had to rush her there," she explained. "So it's probably not safe. I shouldn't be saying any of this."

De Rossi, who had to undergo an emergency appendectomy, is "much better now," her wife said. The Emmy winner joked that the actress was offering nurses tickets to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" for medication.

"She was begging for more pain pills because she was still in pain and the nurse was not giving them to her," DeGeneres shared. "So she starts offering up tickets to my show. She's like bargaining, 'What about the Christmas 12 Days show?'"

De Rossi suffered from appendicitis at the time and had to have her appendix removed. There aren't any specific causes as to why people suffer from the condition, but it's very painful. Treatment, including potential surgery to remove the organ, is crucial when it occurs, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Due to COVID-19 protocol, DeGeneres was forced to leave de Rossi alone in the hospital and wait for her at home, People reported. She said it was "upsetting" that they sent her home and that she was crying, before joking it was "because someone was chopping onions at the nurse's station."
