Enrique Iglesias and wife Anna Kournikova have officially entered parenthood. The couple apparently welcomed their twins over the weekend.

The singer and the former tennis player surprised their fans this Monday after it was found out that they became parents to twins last Saturday, Dec. 16. The often private couple did not publicly disclose the birth of their babies, but Us Weekly managed to catch wind of it. The entertainment news outlet even divulged the baby names of Iglesias and Kournikova’s twins as Nicholas for the boy and Lucy for the girl.

On the day of their twins’ birth, the pair did not show any hints that they had become parents then. Kournikova took to Instagram to share photos of herself as she was riding a boat while wearing an oversized windbreaker jacket for her husband’s tour. She simply captioned her post “#miamiwinter” and “#nofilterneeded.” Iglesias also shared a selfie from the same boat on social media.

The celebrity couple is known for being notoriously private. They have been dating for 16 years now since meeting each other for the first time on the set of Iglesias’ “Escape” music video in 2001. Although the two never disclosed that they have already tied the knot, some fans assumed that they did after Kournikova was spotted with a big sparker on her left hand’s ring finger in June 2016.

In 2011, Iglesias also may have slipped a confirmation of their status when he introduced Kournikova during a concert in Russia as his wife. However, the “Hero” hitmaker clarified following the concert that he just got caught up in the moment when he said that, adding that being married or not should not define his love for his long-time partner, as per Daily Mail.

Three years later, Iglesias told Latina magazine that having a legal document to prove a couple’s relationship does not ensure happiness. “This is a new era! A paper doesn’t guarantee your happiness. Besides we are just fine with sex and love.”

Last year, Iglesias once again raised eyebrows when he maintained his stance on marriage but seemingly alluded to having walked the aisle with Kournikova in secret. “I don’t believe you need a piece of paper to show you love someone. Who knows what the future holds … or the past … haha,” he told E! News.
