Former Hewlett-Packard Chief Executive Mark Hurd has not been nominated for reelection

as a director of News Corp , according to regulatory filing on Tuesday.

Hurd, who resigned as HP's chief executive on Aug 6, will remain on News Corp board till the media company's next annual meeting on Oct 15.

He resigned as chairman and chief executive of HP, after an internal investigation into sexual harassment accusations found inaccurate expense reports related to a female contractor.

News Corp which owns Wall Street Journal, Fox Network and Twentieth Century Fox Studios among other properties, did not give a reason for Hurd's departure from the board.

A spokesperson was not immediately available.
