  • Fans blasted Kanye West for peeing on one of his Grammy awards
  • The netizens urged the musician to fight the battle with dignity and not with such disgusting antics
  • West uploaded the video amid the controversy about musicians’ lack of rights over their master recordings

Social media users had a lot to say about Kanye West’s recent video update on Twitter in which he can be seen peeing on one of his Grammy awards. Even his ardent fans claimed that the musician should not have done that and should have shown some respect to the accolade that he received for making music.

Following his Twitter meltdown, the 43-year-old musician recently threw one of his Grammys in the toilet and peed all over it. The “Mercy” hitmaker uploaded the video of the deed just an hour after he shared images of his recording contracts with Def Jam music, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, in a string of tweets.

“Trust me. I WON’T STOP,” he captioned the video. The clip has since accumulated than 19 million views.

The netizens were not at all ready for such a sight and blasted the singer as soon as he shared the video with his 30.9 million followers.

One of the users claimed that the “Stronger” hitmaker has a well-documented mental illness and he should seek some help for it. The user also criticized West for publicizing a meltdown for profit.

“Kanye has a well-documented mental illness. Publicizing a meltdown for clicks and profits is gross. He needs help, not the eyes of the world on him,” a user commented.

Another user alleged that the singer has lost his mind and that’s why he is tweeting such things.

Meanwhile, one user criticized the musician for all the drama regarding the contract and said that people forget what they signed for when they get famous, but it doesn’t work that way.

“Artists sign anything to be famous. Then after they are famous, they want to be out of what they signed. Fools. Guess what, it doesn’t work that way,” @mk90212 wrote.

Similarly, another user compared West’s battle to have total artistic control over his creations with Prince, who also fought a career-long battle against Warner Bros. to have control over his music. However, the user noted that the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing Right” hitmaker should deal with the problem with some dignity instead of doing such disgusting antics.

“Prince waged the war 20 years ago (with dignity and the sacrifice of giving up his name for 4 years). He won his battle with WB for ownership of his masters. Kanye, you could learn from those that went before you who did it with honor, not with disgusting antics,” @THendersonPAC tweeted.

On the other hand, some supported the musician and said that’s the way to do it.

“You people really don’t understand what he is trying to symbolize here. Y’all sleep,” a netizen wrote.

“I think I can delete my Twitter now because I’ve seen the best tweet. Ever,” another user commented.

The musician shared the video in the middle of a controversy about artists’ lack of rights in owning their master recordings. He even requested Taylor Swift to join him in this mission.

“The artist deserve to own our masters artist are starving without tours. Ima go get our masters. for all artist. pray for me,” West tweeted.

In another tweet, he wrote, “ Bono can I get a retweet Love you Paul can I get a retweet love you Drake Kendrick even Taylor . We need you right noooooow .”

As of late, the “Shake It Off” hitmaker has not replied to West’s tweet.
