Ewan McGregor as Emmit Stussy
Emmit Stussy (Ewan McGregor) is coming clean about the murder of his younger brother, Ray Stussy (also played by McGregor), in Season 3, episode 9 of “Fargo.” FX

Emmit Stussy (Ewan McGregor) is opening up to Gloria Burgle (Carrie Coon) in Season 3, episode 9 of “Fargo.”

According to the synopsis for next week’s episode, “Emmit sits down with Gloria” to seemingly come clean about the murder of his younger brother, Ray Stussy (also played by McGregor). But will Emmit also tell Gloria about V.M. Varga (David Thewlis) and how he helped him cover up the murder scene?

In the trailer for episode 9, Gloria asks Emmit: “Who is he, the master pulling the strings?” It’s unclear whether or not Emmit will turn Varga in to the police. But because the season only has two episodes left, it wouldn’t be surprising if Emmit finally decided to reveal Varga’s illegal activities to the authorities.

In Season 3, episode 8, Emmit found himself a victim of haunting. First, he saw Ray’s beat-up Corvette parked in his parking space. He was also spooked when he noticed that all the decorative photos in his office were replaced with copies of the vintage stamp that Ray originally inherited from their father. Later in the episode, Emmit woke up drunk in his home only to discover that he had a mustache similar to Ray’s.

While Emmit was convinced that Ray is still alive and all the eerie things that had happened to him were Ray and Nikki Swango’s (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) doing, Varga was trying to get the Parking Lot King of Minnesota to focus on business matters, even offering him a mild sedative. But the sedative didn’t end Emmit’s restlessness, as he seemed to have faked his sleep and slyly headed to the police station to confess.

Also in the trailer, Gloria brings Ruby Goldfarb (Mary McDonnell) in for questioning, and Donny Mashman (Mark Forward) expresses faith in Gloria’s investigation, saying: “You’re right about this case. It’s a real twister.”

The synopsis also reveals that “Nikki negotiates a deal.” Does this mean Nikki re-submits herself to the police after managing to save her life from Varga’s henchmen?

“Fargo” Season 3, episode 9, titled “Aporia,” airs on Wednesday, June 14, at 10 p.m. EDT on FX. Watch the trailer for the episode below:
