The FBI continues to track down participants in the Capitol Riots on Jan. 6.

Prosecutors have charged over 300 people in connection to the Capitol Riots and about 100 more are expected to be charged, according to reports. Many of the rioters have been turned in by those who knew them. The FBI has listed many of the wanted offenders on their official website.

The FBI's latest request for the public’s help in identifying suspects left social media thinking actor Rick Moranis was a wanted man.

On Sunday, the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” star’s name became a trending topic on Twitter after the FBI tweeted out a photo of a man who resembled the 67-year-old Moranis, according to reports.

“You can help the #FBI identify individuals involved in the January 6 violence at the U.S. Capitol,” the tweet read.

Twitter users began pointing out the similarities between the suspect and Moranis. The unidentified man was pictured wearing glasses and what appeared to be a helmet. The look was similar to Moranis’ appearances in films like “Little Giants” and “Spaceballs.”

“Nice try, FBI. April Fools Day isn’t here yet. Thinking you’re slick sneaking in footage from the 1980s classic, ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids.’ #RickMoranis,” one user joked.

Another user posted: “Dear FBI, Have you looked for him in the movie Ghostbusters? I’m pretty sure you’ll find him there. LMFAO.”

Meanwhile, one user defended Moranis and encouraged others to avoid associating the actor with the Capitol insurrection.

“Rick Moranis is trending for the wrong reasons. Rick is a terrific and humble person. Don’t put him in the same sentence as the individuals involved in the Capital attack,” the user wrote.

Moranis stepped away from the spotlight more than a decade ago to focus on raising his children but made headlines in October 2020 when he was attacked in New York City.

At the time, Moranis was walking along Central Park West in Manhattan's Upper West Side when another pedestrian shoved him to the ground. Moranis received medical attention at a local hospital, and a rep for Moranis later said he was doing “fine” following the attack.
