In episode 2 of “The Flash” on the CW, the whole S.T.A.R. Labs team finally came together. Barry (Grant Gustin) gained the confidence to take on his meta-human foes after a little encouragement from Harrison, the rest of the S.T.A.R. seemed to rally around him, and even Joe (Jesse Martin) lent his support. The newfound teamwork comes just in time too, because the synopsis for episode 3 shows they will need all the help they can get with their next foe.

According to the synopsis for episode 3, titled “Things You Can’t Outrun,” the next villain for the Flash and Co. will be the Mist. Fans of “The Flash” comics know that the Mist is another meta-human who has the power to dissolve himself into a poisonous gas and engulf his enemies. The promo shows the new super villain in action.

The end of the promo shows the Mist going after Barry, seemingly to poison him. A photo (above) from the new episode showing Barry receiving medical treatment from the S.T.A.R. Labs team seems to confirm that he will get poisoned by the Mist.

Barry and the rest of the team will have other things on their plates as well in the new episodes. The synopsis for episode 3 teases that Joe will finally pay a visit to Barry’s dad in prison. From episode 2 fans know that Joe finally believed Barry about his father’s innocence and has vowed to help clear his name. Meanwhile, fans will finally get more details in episode 3 about Caitlin’s (Danielle Panabaker) fiancé’s mysterious death.

Much like its title character, now that it has started “The Flash” isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Viewers, though, will have to wait until next week to see if Barry can take down the Mist. “The Flash” airs on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
