Team Flash is going to face off against a silver-haired baddie in an upcoming episode of “The Flash.”

Grant Gustin, Keiynan Lonsdale, Carlos Valdes and Jessica Camacho were spotted filming a sequence in downtown Vancouver on Friday morning, which involved a mysterious silver-haired actor in costume. The name of the actor and the character he plays are currently unknown, but set photos shared by YVRShoots suggest that he’s portraying a villain.

In one of the photos, The Flash (Gustin) appears to tackle the mystery character from the back, as Kid Flash (Lonsdale), Cisco (Valdes) and Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) ready themselves to help the Scarlet Speedster.

There are also a couple of snapshots that show The Flash and Kid Flash seemingly shooting lightning bolts at someone. Cisco and Gypsy are also photographed using their vibe powers at an unseen villain.

Surprisingly, Kevin Smith was spotted on location. In a pic uploaded by a fan, Smith appears to be talking to the mystery pale-haired actor. While it seems that Smith is directing the episode, it’s more likely that he’s just dropping by, as he’s currently directing Season 2, episode 17 of “Supergirl,” which also shoots in Vancouver.

Smith has already directed two episodes of “The Flash.” He helmed Season 2’s “The Runaway Dinosaur” and Season 3’s “Killer Frost.” And because the cast loves him, it won’t be a surprise if he returns to the show’s director’s chair in the future.

“Kevin is so passionate and so knowledgeable. It’s his enthusiasm that really permeates the set,” Danielle Panabaker, who plays Caitlin on the series, told TVLine in November. “He has a lot of trust in the actors, that we’ve done our homework and are prepared. One thing that he in particular has is an incredible mastery of storytelling and this ability to finesse the script to help tell the story the best way possible. He also knows what he’s going to use, what he is going to cut to, so he doesn’t waste time…. He’s specific and clear about what he wants.”

Tom Cavanagh also previously gushed about Smith. “He’s one of the most gregarious, generous and accomplished people I’ve ever met in the entertainment world,” Cavanagh, who plays different versions of Harrison Wells on the series, told Variety in October. “He’s so engaging and genuine, and his energy lifts everything in whatever job he happens to be doing at the moment. He’s one of a kind, and we’re so fortunate to have aligned ourselves with him.”

“The Flash” Season 3, episode 13, titled “Attack on Gorilla City,” airs on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
