Barry and Iris are finally tying the knot in Season 4 of “The Flash.”

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) are finally going to get married in the new season of the CW series. While this is definitely good news for WestAllen fans, Kreisberg pointed out that the wedding doesn’t guarantee a happy ending for the couple. “It’s going to be: Can they stay married with everything that’s coming up against them?” Kreisberg teased.

Details about the wedding, including when exactly it will happen, are being kept under wraps. But since Patton told Entertainment Weekly last July that Barry and Iris have some issues to resolve after he gets out of the Speed Force, it seems that the nuptials will take place in the latter part of Season 4.

“There’s going to be some trust issues,” Patton said of what fans can expect from Barry and Iris at the beginning of the new season. “He left and didn’t really ask her or discuss it with her. He just kind of does things and comes back and says, ‘I hope you’re okay with that.’ They’re going to have to really work on their relationship before they actually tie the knot. … There’s going to be some work that needs to be done before they actually put rings on each other’s fingers.”

In fact, Kreisberg revealed to Entertainment Weeklythat Barry and Iris will be going to couples therapy this season to iron out their differences.

“Barry and Iris keep comically clashing inadvertently because she’s used to being in charge, and he’s used to being in charge, and so they wind up going to couples therapy to work through it,” Kreisberg said. “The two of them with the therapist is some of the funniest stuff we have ever done on this show, but it also leads to a deepening of their relationship.”

As to what fans can expect from the show’s other romantic pairings next season, TVLine revealed that Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) and Jesse’s (Violett Beane) relationship goes through an “evolution,” while Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) are “still together, and they’re going to be for a while.”

“The Flash” Season 4, episode 1 airs on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. EDT on the CW.
