  • An official "Fortnite" teaser hinting at a "Tron" crossover was recently released on Twitter
  • A popular "Fortnite" data-miner revealed new "Tron"-themed content
  • "Tron"-themed skins are already circulating online

“Fortnite” is expected to receive a wealth of new content. A recent wave of leaks has shown that Epic Games will be hosting a crossover event with the film franchise “Tron,” which is expected to introduce aptly-themed cosmetic items and possibly even a new map.

On Wednesday, the official Twitter account of the immensely popular battle royale game tweeted a short teaser that points toward this upcoming collaboration. In the short “Fortnite” trailer, a reference to a “very old computer,” the phrase “make yourself comfortable” and the sounds of the trailer’s character getting teleported inside said computer can be heard.

This scene mimics the beginning of the original 1982 “Tron” film in which the main character, Kevin Flynn, was first brought to the movie’s digital world.

Apart from official sources, reliable “Fortnite” data-miner Hypex posted a video displaying an image of a neon city that’s very similar to the Grid in “Tron.” The video also features an audio track that’s heavily inspired by the film.

It is speculated that players will be able to enter this new area via portals in-game. Players may randomly encounter a rift in reality as they play, and through it, they will be able to see the same city that Hypex posted on their account.

Lastly, there are already images of a “Tron” skin that are circulating online. This skin will let players don the iconic bodysuits that characters wear in the film. The iconic Light Cycle is also expected to make an appearance in the game, but so far, there is no official word about it just yet.

This won’t be the first time “Fortnite” is partnering with other big names in the film and games industries. The game previously had collaborations with “The Terminator,” Marvel’s “Avengers,” and more recently, “The Mandalorian” series. Such crossovers included themed skins for players and new mechanics that changed how people play the game.

It is not yet confirmed whether a new “Fortnite” gameplay mechanic will be implemented in the coming “Tron” crossover.
